LG Futures appointed by London Councils to undertake research into enabling capital investment

Research will take place into, ‘Enabling capital investment by London local government’.  The objectives of the research are to: identify potential barriers to capital investment by London boroughs and ways in which these could be mitigated or overcome; identify potential measures that central government could introduce in order to enable local authority capital investment; identify and draw up case studies in relation to innovative means of financing capital projects by local authorities; and consider the extent to which capital investment by London boroughs has been affected by the current economic climate and whether capital investment could potentially stimulate economic recovery.
